Process Engineering Intern (m/f/d) - Idaho

This position is an opportunity offered to Juniors and Seniors who desire a rewarding experience in EVG’s Technology group. This position is for the summer but has the potential to extend into a long-term employment opportunity with the company upon graduation. You will be a hands-on process engineering intern who engages with EVG’s Technology engineers and other personnel and has the ability to discuss technical details with both laymen and Ph.Ds. The Process Engineering Intern will be involved with most phases of equipment demonstration, process development and process optimization under the mentoring and technical guidance of EVG’s engineering team. By the end of the summer, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of individual assigned topics and to be able to brief engineers and management on your contributions during the internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  1. Provides process support to onsite engineering and service staff.
  2. Assists and/or conducts process development experiments.
  3. Assists with data analysis, tracking information as it becomes available on specific projects.
  4. Creates technical reports.
  5. Assists with maintaining EVG’s cleanroom and equipment.
  6. Supports application lab logistics.
  7. Ensures OSHA compliance.
  8. Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:

  1. This position requires a progression towards a Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 60 semester hours completed, or a Master of Science degree from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in a field such as Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to engineers, researchers, and technical managers.
  3. Technical problem-solving skills.
  4. Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office software.
  5. Preferably experienced with handling chemicals.
  6. Ability to work in a lab/cleanroom.

Physical Demands:

  1. While performing duties of this job, individual is regularly required to stand, sit, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity required. Individual is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently and be able to reach with hand and arms above shoulder level occasionally.
  2. Ability to wear proper cleanroom attire and work inside the fab/cleanroom up to 75% of the time.
